Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Uniforms

How do I order my initial uniform set(s)?

When you become active in your program, you will receive an automatic email with instructions on placing
a uniform order, sent directly to your Gurnick email account. You will receive your uniform within 30
calendar days.

What do I wear to class while waiting for my uniforms?

Acceptable Attire: Business Casual Clothing, such as:

  • Collared shirts or blouses
  • Slacks, khakis, or modest skirts
  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Plain Scrubs in solid colors (no patterns, logos, or excessive designs)

Unacceptable Attire:

  • Jeans, leggings, or sweatpants
  • T-shirts with logos or slogans
  • Open-toe shoes, sandals, Ugg boots, Crocs, or flip-flops
  • Any clothing that is ripped, torn, or revealing
  • Hats or any head coverings (aside from religious coverings)

If you have any questions about whether an item is suitable or not, please contact your program
director/coordinator for confirmation.

This temporary dress code remains in effect until students receive their official uniforms, a maximum of
30 calendar days from the start date (excluding holidays). Afterward, students must wear their official
Gurnick Academy uniform as part of the standard/programmatic dress code.

What do I do if I am unsure of my size?

Please follow the sizing guidelines here. You must
ensure that you measure yourself accurately. If exchanges are needed after receiving your uniforms,
please note that shipping and handling costs will occur.

What if I’m between sizes?

It is imperative that students make their uniform sizing selection based on the sizing
chart
available for review. You will want to order the size(s) closest to your
measurements. As a reminder, the uniforms are more of a tapered fit.

If your size falls outside of the available selections, or if you anticipate changes in your size due to
unforeseen circumstances (such as pregnancy), please email [email protected] as soon as possible. It is essential,
and the student’s responsibility, to do this promptly to ensure their uniform can be properly
handled and delivered on time.

Are the uniform pieces loose or form-fitting?

The uniforms have a slim, tapered fit.

What if I selected the wrong size?

If you selected the wrong size, please email [email protected] to discuss exchange options. If
you have already received your items or they have already been shipped, you may be responsible for
shipping and/or exchange fees.

Can I select different styles for my initial set?

You will be able to select the applicable style for your program at the time of your initial order. If
you would like to purchase different styles outside of your initial set, please visit our website here.

Where can I purchase additional uniform pieces?

Check out our uniform collection(s) here!

Are additional merchandise items purchased on the Gurnick store approved uniform items?

We welcome everyone to purchase additional merchandise items in the Gurnick Store. However, unless
otherwise stated on the website, merchandise is not part of the approved uniform. Students are welcome
to wear Gurnick merchandise to and from class/clinicals; however, the items cannot be worn during class.

Transcripts & Grading

How can I access my unofficial transcript or current grades?

Log in to your GEGI account and select “View Transcript” under your Didactic Group(s) Action button.
Instructions are available to download/view in this module.

I need an official transcript. Where do I go?

Visit our website here to place your order for an official transcript. Gurnick
Academy of Medical Arts currently processes official transcripts via Parchment services.

I need an enrollment verification letter for housing, childcare, employment, and other purposes.
Who should I speak with?

Student Services can provide a verification letter for childcare, employment, and other purposes. The
letter can only be provided to you directly. If your employer has questions, they should contact the
registrar at [email protected] and provide a signed
consent form to release the requested information.

Graduation/Commencement

What are the standard graduation requirements? How can I ensure I am up to date?

All programmatic, institutional, and financial obligations must be fulfilled before the program
concludes. Please get in touch with your program director/coordinator, as well as the campus
director, if you have any questions. If your program has exit exams, please refer to your
schedule for exam dates and other requirements (if applicable). Questions about the exam
schedule can also be directed to your program director/coordinator.

When is the date of my graduation/commencement event?

Please check out our current graduation calendar here. As the end of
your program approaches, your Student Services team will provide you with details about the
event.

How do I order my graduation regalia?

All graduation regalia, including the required bundle and additional optional items, can be
ordered here. Please order your
graduation package at least 14 days before your scheduled graduation ceremony date.

Note: Graduation regalia is required to participate in the ceremony. All the
necessary regalia must be ordered via the website linked and cannot be purchased elsewhere.

How many tickets do I get for my family and friends?

Tickets are available in different quantities depending on the ceremony date and/or campus. If
you have a question about a ticket, please contact your campus’s Student Services Department.

What is the graduation gown size chart?

Gown sizing differs. Please review the product information for your program and degree level when
ordering your regalia to ensure a proper fit.

Can I decorate my graduation cap?

Yes! Absolutely! We encourage students to decorate their graduation caps in a festive and
celebratory manner. Designs must be appropriate and cannot include profanity, inappropriate
imagery or text, or any design that goes against the Gurnick Academy Code of Conduct. Any cap
that is deemed inappropriate will be confiscated at the ceremony and will not be returned to the
student.

Pinning Ceremony (VN, ADN, BSN Programs)

What is the dress code for pinning ceremonies?

Students are required to wear white scrubs for their pinning ceremony. This requirement is in
accordance with the nursing tradition of pinning ceremonies.

Where can I purchase white scrubs?

Students can purchase
white scrubs via our website
or purchase their own set elsewhere. Scrubs must be all
white with no pattern.

My pinning ceremony will take place during my graduation ceremony. Do I have to wear the
white scrubs to graduation?

If your pinning ceremony is being held at the graduation ceremony, you must wear your white
scrubs under your cap and gown. There will be no break in the ceremony or opportunity to
change your attire.
